Kindergarten

Children start the first year of kindergarten in September after completing 4 years of age. The kindergarten stage applies a two-year programme.

The curricula are implemented by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates. An integrated approach to the curriculum ensures that Arabic, English, mathematics, science, social studies, arts and physical education are taught and core skills are taught across a variety of subjects which can then be used in wider educational settings.

Ashbal Al-Quds Private Secondary School pays great attention to students’ participation in innovative learning strategies that stem mainly from the students’ interests and guide them to become qualified in the future.

The first few weeks of school are very important during which students get to know their new learning environments and establish new routines. Therefore, punctuality and regular attendance are crucial to ensuring that students continue to make the desired progress while taking the necessary preparations to crown this school year with success and excellence.

The basic knowledge sequence model in kindergarten is based on five areas of learning:

• Physical well-being and motor development.

• Social and emotional development.

• Learning approach.

• Language development.

• Acquiring knowledge and cognitive development.

Our focus in Kindergarten is to engage children in direct learning experiences with a strong emphasis on play and early communication skills. We also place great emphasis on developing children's independence in all aspects of the curriculum. We also implement role-playing strategies as a way to develop children's expressive language skills, and we regularly change role-playing areas in classrooms and central areas.

At Ashbal Al-Quds Private Secondary School, we are keen to encourage parents to support their children’s development through reading at home/school and sound and letter formation activities associated with home/school.

The school day begins at 7:30 a.m., with class starting at 7:45 a.m.

The Kindergarten school day ends at 12:30 p.m., and all parents must pick up their children from the classroom.
